Vaccines in egypt

edited April 2009 in - North Africa
I'm just wondering about malaria and egypt. According to my doctor's database plaquenil can be taken to prevent infection, if you are likely to be exposed. However the world health site and my government's travel advice do not recommend any prevention. I will ask a travel clinic, but just wondering what people did when they travelled there? Did they have any issues?

I have travelled many times to Egypt and have never taken an anti-malarial. There is no malaria in Egypt so you will not be exposed.
