Visiting Iceland in July, how likely are we to get solid rain? Is the nature of the rain likely to be such that you can still visit (and see!) the natural sites, with waterproof gear, or is it prone to claggy, poor visibility at that time of year?

Is it expensive to stay in Rekjavic for a few days? Eating out etc?

It is hard to guarantee anything at all regarding the weather here in Iceland. July should be fine. But you could be unlucky and get 10C and rain/wind, or lucky with over 20C and sun....Make sure to bring a warm sweather (or buy a woollen one here) and a windproof/waterproof jacket. Also bring a warm hat and mittens just in case....The weather changes fast here.
