Best time to travel to Lithuania

edited March 2013 in - Eastern Europe
Hi. Please can anybody with experience of Lithuania give me some advice on when the best time to visit is, weather-wise? Is spring a good time? I actually know very little about the Baltic States, which is partly why I want to explore the region. Any other travel advice for Lithuania would be welcome!

Lithuania is pretty dismal in winter - it gets very cold! But almost any other time is okay. The best time to visit Lithuania is between May and September, which includes late spring, summer and early autumn. Late spring is a great time to go because you'll miss the crowds but still get the pleasant weather, however, it is rainy in spring so go prepared for that. It rains in summer too, so visitors are never really free of it, but it's really not a big deal and the thunder storms can be wonderful.
