Getting a Chinese visa in the UK

edited March 2013 in - China
Hi all,

I'm going to China soon and am planning on going to either Manchester or London (I live in Birmingham so I have some choice :) - is Manchester less busy though?) to hand in my form for a single-entry tourist visa (and then have it sent back). Can I just turn up without an appointment and wait for my ticket number to be called? Or do I *definitely* have to schedule an appointment just to hand my form in? Also, can I pay on the day?

Many thanks.

According to the Chinese Visa Application Centre, you need to book an appointment to submit your application. You can do so at their website, as well as download all the relevant forms: http://www.visaforchina.org/MAN_EN/
