Visa for cruise visiting Morocco

edited August 2013 in - North Africa
I am a UK citizen but my wife is Taiwanese.   She is a UK resident with a current biometric resident's permit.    We are taking a cruise in December.  The itinerary includes a one day visit to Casablanca.   It seems very difficult to get a visa for her and the Moroccan embassy is hopeless.  They do not answer the phone and have not replied to letters and emails.
My question is this.    If she stays on the boat during it's stop over in Morocco (8 hours) will we be allowed to travel or is a visa necessary for anyone entering a Moroccan port even if they stay on board?
Many thanks to anyone who can advise us.

  • If she stays on board she will not need a visa.

However it is not a difficult process to get her one.  Here's the info and form.

Also check with the cruise line.  Often they arrange 'blanket' visas that cover all passengers as long as they arrive and leave on the same ship and do not spend overnight on land.
