Walking holiday in Wales

edited December 2013 in - Britain and Ireland
A group of us are hoping to take a walking holiday in Wales sometime next year, and I was hoping for recommendations on walking trails and routes etc? Also, I know it is often rainy, but which months are best for hiking in Wales? Many thanks for any help!

  • Hi Sally,
Wales is a fantastic walking holiday destination. One of the most famous walking trails is Offa's Dyke Path, which runs pretty much the length of the country from north to south, following an 8th-century dyke. It is a National Trail and walking the whole length of it takes about two weeks, but you can easily do some research and pick a good section for however long suits you. It will take you through stunning Welsh scenery of all kinds and past many good cultural and historical attractions. The summer months (June to August) are the best for a walking holiday as they are the driest and warmest. Enjoy!
