What are the chances of seeing the northern light mid October 2014?

There is a FB page that can be useful for Aurora Borealis hunting You can see the Northern Lights in October, not if it is cloudy though.
You have to get out of towns and villages to see them properly, since there is too much "light pollution"
coming from even the smallest village in the distance. The Thingvellir area is
beautiful and close to Reykjavik. The advantage of that area is the beauty of the landscape and
no villages that pollute with electric light.
