Does a Croatian Resident Permit allow me into Italy?

edited November 2014 in - Italy
Hello,
I have an Indian passport and a Croatian residence permit. I would like to know if it's possible for me to catch a flight from  Venice -Italy which is 1 hour away from where I live in Rijeka?
Is there free movement between the two countries? I'd really like to know soon as I have to buy a ticket and they are cheapest bwteen Venice and London.

Thanks a lot

Croatia is in the EU but is not yet a member of the Schengen zone. So your Croatian residence permit may not be recognised. I suggest you apply for a transit visa from the Italian Embassy in Croatia
