Belek Town

edited February 2015 in - Turkey
Hi,
We are travelling to Turkey in May, we are a group of eight male golfers. We are staying in the Voyage Hotel all inclusive and playing three rounds of golf, but would like to venture out off the resort for a few hours now and again and was wondering what is in Belek Town. ie cost of bus/taxis, bars, restaurants, places of interest.

Thanks Carl

Voyage hotel is a large resort and perfect for golfers. Belek is a small place not a big town , it used to be a village by the sea until it became the mecca for golfers. Its quite up market , very smart and clean and there are plenty of restaurants, shops and a bazar to visit, there even used to be a Chinese restaurant ! Saturday is market day, in Belek and the bazar will be worth a visit.

The town of Belek is about 2km from the Voyage hotel. You can walk , get a cab or the dolmus ( local bus) Its a fixed price on the dolmus the fare was1 Lira but its probably gone up and its free for locals. there used to be a tractor that gave lifts round Belek for a couple of lira !

From Belek you can visit Side which is about 20 miles down the road its worth a visit also Manavgat about 2 miles from Side. Its around 40 minutes on the bus. Turkish buses are very clean, cheap and efficient. If you ask the hotel they will advise you about taxis, dolmus and buses
