Japanese Currency query

edited April 2016 in - Japan
Is it true that the Japanese no longer use the smaller 'sen' denominations? As in, the Japanese Yen (JPY) used to be divided into 100 sen, but apparently not anymore. Is there now nothing smaller than JPY 1, or has the sen been replaced by something else?

  • Sen hasn't been used everyday life for a long time now.

  • Thanks Terry.
