Travelling to Jordan for a short break with a passport valid for less than 6 months

Hi me and my friend wants to travel to Jordan with a canadian passport. My friend passport is valid for less than 6 months. It's a last minute trip and only for a short break. She works in the UAE so we are already in the middle east. It says everywhere that the passport needs to be valid for 6 months at least, but we know a lot of country let people pass even if the passport validity is not respected.

Does anybody has experienced a similar situation ? We want to know if we should try

Thank you for your help

  • This is quote from the Canadian government.
Canadians must present a passport to visit Jordan, which must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of expected departure from that country. Prior to travelling, ask your transportation company about its requirements related to passport validity, which may be more stringent than the country's entry rules.

Often airlines refuse to allow you to travel if you do not hold a passport valid for six months or longer.
