    Hello HPT52,

Your passport must be valid for at least 30 days after your intended date of departure from South Africa, but I recommend having a passport valid for at least 3-6 months after your date of departure.

Have a look at the passport section in our free South African Travel Guide where you can also have a look at activities and attractions in South Africa.

    Regards,
    Rowan
  • Thanks very much - Some travel agents say 6 months but when I google it i see its 30 days after leaving SA. Its my Son that is coming to South Africa on the 19th.
  • It is ideal to have 6 months on his passport and I'm sure that most people will advise that, as I have. However, 30 days is the absolute minimum, as stipulated on the official government website.
