Birth Certificate for Marriage in Tunisia

edited August 1 in - Tunisia
My boyfriend is from algeria. I am from the u.s.a.. I read that the birth certificate can not be older than a month. Does that mean I have to get a new one?! My birth certificate was issued in 2004.

You will need to apply for another birth certificate. Several countries require a birth certificate issued no more than 21 days before the wedding. That is their rules. If you don't comply you will not be able to marry.
  • @aslansglow - @Alethia is correct. Your birth certificate must not be older than 21 days. It needs to be an original also and then translated into Arabic/French.

Also note that unless your boyfriend is already resident in Tunisia or older than 35 he will be denied entry into Tunisia.
