Cuba Snorkelling trip 2010

edited February 2010 in - Cuba
We're going to Cuba at the end of May 2010, staying at Jibacao. We are both keen on snorkelling and would like some information on both snorkelling off the various beaches and also any organised excursions that members know of and could recommend. We went to the Maldives last year and spent more time in the water than out of it! We're hoping to do the same in Cuba this year (with a couple of breaks to see Havana.)

Just got back from Jibacoa. Supposed to be best spot for snorkel in Cuba. Reef comes right up to sandy beach at resort.Swim out from the north , current will carry you back to shore, water is shallow. breezy spot . Had to wait for calm water with no jellyfish. Then it was excellent. May- Nov. is tornado season.Bring gifts for the locals .They are poor but friendly. You WILL get panhandled in Havana.
