Places to see, things to do in Salt Lake City?

edited March 2010 in - USA
I'm passing through Salt Lake City for a few days and I want to know what's worth seeing? I don't know much about Salt Lake City besides its high population of Mormons but that's about it.
I'll be staying at the International UTE Hostel - can anyone tell me what good attractions are located nearby? I'll have a car with me so no need to worry about getting around.

Any advice or suggestions would be great.
Thanks - Stu

Salt Lake City is a beautiful place to spend holidays.I had also visited there for spending my holidays & the places i like there the most are Utah's Hogle Zoo, Sandy City Amphitheater, The Living Planet Aquarium, Great Salt Lake. You should also visit these places whenever you visit Salt Lake City.

The attractions to visit in Salt Lake are as varied as our visitors. You can go on a scenic drive as you travel to relive the glory at Olympic venues or take in the arid beauty of the Salt Flats on your way to Wendover's casinos. If you're looking for something genuinely unique to Salt Lake then genealogy is what you want in the "Genealogy Capitol of the World." If history catches your fancy, travel back in time as you take in historic sites (and some not so historic sites) on a carriage ride in downtown Salt Lake.
