Need some advice for 3 days in Singapore

edited April 2010 in - Singapore
Hi there,
I'm going to stay in Singapore in May 12 on business. But I have free- day so I don't know what is "must-see" destinations in Singapore. What is the best place to view country?
Which hotel is the best service with best prices near by Scotts Road? How do you think spend all day in safari?
Any advice or recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello~ Hotels like Hyatt, Royal Scotts, Marriott are all great and they are around Scotts Road, which is right in the middle of the great Orchard Road shopping belt. We've got 313, Orchard Ion, Orchard Central which are the few 'latest' additions to the shopping malls like Takashimaya, Tangs etc.

U may like to go Sentosa - we've got 1 of the 2 casinos that opened recently (Resort World Sentosa @ and there's the Universal Studios right over Sentosa. Hard Rock Hotel is right beside.

Marina Bay Sands casino will be opening on 27 April- everyone's looking forward to it ;) ( - the hotel is opening as well. It is right in the middle of Singapore, and you will be able to see the Singapore Flyer.(Recommended if you wanna have a bird's eye view, best to take the ride is during 630-700pm.. so that you get to see the day side and the evening side of Singapore)

Yup, you should visit the Night Safari - personally I like it a lot. It's operational from 7pm onwards. (i think so! u can check for more details)

A day in Singapore.. you can go around citysightseeing... (we've got the open air bus rides, or the semi land/sea (Duck Tours), shopping (Vivocity, Chinatown, Orchard) and probably Night Safari.

Hope you enjoy your stay here~

    Hi Diamonte
This is useful information. I've checked the websites you recommended. great website. And the Singapore Flyer is similar London Eyes ( I saw in the pictures) so I decide go there and spend night safari in Singapore Zoo will be greats. I believe I will have a perfect day.
    Thanks for your sharing

Thank you for sharing. If like me you hate to wander around the street and purchase goods store by store then you are saved by the online shopping mall. You don’t actually need to walk to the store, but it does allow you to shop in your house!
  • When I was there last year I spent some time wandering around Little India in the evening. It was really great to see this side of the city and soak up the atmosphere. You can also get some really tasty Indian street food there.

    Best destination in Singapore

Sentosa Island - One of the most popular islands of Singapore. The places to visit at this island are the Underwater World, the Merilon, the Volcano Island, the Fantasy Island, Fort Siloso, Butterfly Market and Insect Kingdom, Museum, Maritime Museum, Central Beach and the Sentosa Orchid Garden.

China Town - Well known for the ancient temples and the old shop houses that sell antique pieces as well as other kinds of products, which you can pick up as a souvenir from this nation.

Little India - Markets and shop that display Indian products and at this place just gorge on the delicious Indian cuisine that has been made with Indian spices.

Kampong Glam - It features the Sultan Mosque, largest mosque of the nation/country/island of Singapore that was constructed in the year 1928 and the Istana Kampong Glam that got converted to the Malay heritage park.

Geylang Serai - Hub of the community of the Malay.

Singapore Discovery Center - It got inaugurated in the year 1996 on the 23rd of June.
Haw Par Villa - The most fascinating park of this nation.

A few other places to visit are the Singapore Zoo, the other islands, the Carlsburg Sky Tower and others as well.

That's true, Singapore is arguably the culinary hub of South East Asia, and no visit would be complete without a trip to one of the city-state's famed Hawker Centres. These open-air malls (of sort) host hundreds of vendors in some cases, each offering a unique taste of local flavour. It's cheap, delicious and a cultural experience of note! If you're feeling a bit nervous about partaking in the local scene, read this article on using hawker centres in Singapore.

There are plentiful of hotels in Scott Road. "BEST" hotel will be very subjective coz 3 star hotels=less service but good price & 5 star=great service but expensive price. So try any 4 star hotels & sacrifice a bit of 'BEST' service & price. Choices of hotels can be found in most Online Travel Agents like AsiaTravel,, Asiarooms, Agoda & lots more.

A must-see places in Singapore will be Orchard Road (esp during Christmas & New Year's eve) & Sentosa Island. I wouldn't recommend safari (esp night safari). Coz i've once tried night safari, those nocturnal animals (night animals) don't actually show themselves on the spot light. They rather stay cozy away from the lights & makes you look for them instead.
  •  3 Days in singapore:

visit the world's first night wildlife park(900 animals of 135 exotic species) in this premier night zoo.
Next day take  Sentosa Island Tour, enjoy cable car ride from Mt. Faber to Sentosa. After then enjoy Songs of the Sea Show.

    Last day explore Universal Studios.
