Cape Verde visa requirements

edited August 2010 in - General Africa
I am living in England and hold a southern ireland passport and have booked a package holiday with thompson which includes visa to Cape Verde.
Have just checked with cape verde bureau in liverpool and told to apply for visa for £72.00.

Is this correct, do I need this?

The office in Liverpool is now closed-there were two numbers to ring and both lines were dead

This is what I found on the Thomson website:

    Important - Flight Only Customers
If you have only booked your flight with Thomson Airways, or you're travelling on a package holiday with another tour operator, the cost of your entry visa is not included. You must pay for your entry visa on arrival in the Cape Verde Islands, and should not apply online via the Thomson website. Entry visas can be paid in cash at passport control at a cost of 25€ per person.
