Cape Town sightseeing: help with planning

edited October 2010 in - Southern Africa
I'm going to Cape Town beginning of November with my girlfriends for 5 nights. We are staying at Sea Point and will have a car. The problem is that we wanna see as much as we can....penguins, whales, Table Mountain, safari, wineland, beaches, etc.....but 5 days is not enough! Any itinerary suggestion?

Assuming you have four full days I can recommend the following:
-1 day for Table Mountain - pick a clear day so you get a nice view from the top. In the afternoon you can either go to the beach or the V&A as they aren't too far away.
-1 day for Boulders beach and Chapmans peak drive
-1 day for winelands - I recommend checking out Franschhoek for a nice lunch, perhaps Kirstenbosch on the way back.
-1 day for a day visit to Hermanus, a great place to spot whales

I wouldn't recommend going on a day safari from Cape Town despite the number of options, as they aren't particularly good.
