Visa dilema for South African citizen by marriage
I am a South African citizen by marriage and have a South African Passport. Both my parents are British and therefore I was a British citizen and had a British passport which has expired. I applied for a travel visa to the UK on my South African Passport but was told that because I am/was a British citizen I must now apply for a Right of Abode visa - I am only going over to the UK for 13 days to visit my sister and have already bought my airline ticket. Can anyone advise me if there is another avenue I can follow to resolve this matter - as it could take weeks for this to be sorted out and I don't have weeks to spare! I also don't know if I have dual citizenship or if I could apply for a temporary British passport.
