Getting to Soalala, Madagascar

edited October 2008 in Africa
I have a client who has to go to Soalala in Madagascar and they want to know what would be the best way of getting to Soalala. Would they have to fly to Antananarivo and then go by road to Soalala?

You best bet is to catch an internal flight to Soalala from Antananarivo. Driving is not recommended as the roads are generally terrible. For details on flights email [email protected] or call them on (+261) 20 22 510 00. Scheduled flights are erratic however, and it may be best to source a charter.

    Good luck!

Here are some options for flying to Madagascar. Air Madagascar operates a non-stop service between Paris and Antananarivo four times per week. It also operates a weekly service between Marseilles and Antananarivo. There are flights from London Heathrow via Milan. Air France flies from London Heathrow to Antananarivo via Paris four times per week. Corsair operates a weekly service from Paris Orly. From Johannesburg, South Africa, you can take the Air Madagascar/SAAirlink flight to Antananarivo, which operates five day per week. Air Madagascar also flies from Nairobi once a week. There are daily flights between Madagascar and Mauritius on Air Mauritius.

Once there, you can take an internal flight to Soalala from Antananarivo on Air Madagascar.
