Czech Republic visa confusion for South African passport holder!

edited June 2011 in - Eastern Europe
I am so eager to travel to the Czech Republic but have been told numerous different visa requirements for South African passport holders.
I'm interested to find out more about the policy stated on this page (I will be granted a short stay visa upon arrival if I have a family member that is an EU national) as my mother is a British citizen, however she will not be travelling with me. Is this policy still valid and would it require for my mother to be travelling with me?

I am also a South African and have travelled many times to the Czech Republic. You need only a Schengen visa for the whole of the EU - which includes the Czech - so if you already have a valid Schengen then you are fine. Else you need to get one if you are travelling on an SA passport.
