I have always wanted to go to Vermont in the fall to see the leaves changed color, and I think this is the year, but now I need to plan. What is the best time of the year to see the leaves at their beat - when they've changed color but haven't started to fall off the trees yet? And where is a good base to do lots of driving around the countryside - I'm thinking of Montpelier, since I've heard it's very picturesque and quaint? Any other ideas, maybe some nice little farms to stay on close to but not in Montpelier? Thanks in advance!
