When is the best time to visit Jordan?

edited May 2013 in - North Africa
I would like to visit Jordan this year or next, when is the best time of year to go? Are there any months so avoid? Also Israel is another country high on my list of places to visit - is it possible to travel between Israel and Jordan?

  • Hi Tom
Spring and Autumn are good - from mid March - mid May the weather is generally warm and sunny, and then mid September to mid November..Summer is very hot and full of Euro crowds.  December - February can be windy, cold and rainy and Amman often has snow as well.
Yes you can link Israel and Jordan together and cross overland- also good combined with Lebanon as well. There are three bridges to cross from Jordan into Israel - details are here: JORDANISRAELBORDERCROSSING

I organise tours to Jordan, check out my site
  • Jordan has a tipically Middle Eastern climate in which summers are very hot. If you are
not adversely affected by heat it is still worth considering a trip at
this time as you will have sights like Petra almost to yourself.
