Cruising via Skagway - is there much to do?

edited December 2009 in North America
I'll be stopping by Skagway on an upcoming cruise and I'm wondering if there's much to do there? Has anoyone been there recently or got any advice for me?
I've researched a little on the Internet and so far it seems very pretty and like a quaint little place but if anyon'es got some first-hand accounts that would be great. What I can see and do while we're there, any points of interest, how easy is it to get around?
I love seafood and I plan on eating out a lot restaurants recommendations wuld also be good.

Many thanks

Skagway has some great excursions you can take. Some popular ones are the Yukon rail, dog sledding, taking a raft trip through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, and if you like to fish, you can go salmon fishing. You should ask your travel agent for suggestions and to book your excursions. The most popular ones can sell out quickly.
